According to The Lancashire Evening Post, Preston North End want to keep Aiden McGeady at the club for next season.

The Republic of Ireland international winger has been a revelation for the Lilywhites this season with scintillating performances on the flanks meaning that he has quickly established himself as a firm fans’ favourite.

Preston secured the season-long loan services of McGeady in the summer, when he joined from Premier League side Everton.

With four goals and eight assists for Preston this season, he has become an integral part of Simon Grayson’s plans as the Lancashire based outfit vie for a top half finish and were an outside bet for the play-offs for some while.

The former Celtic and Spartak Moscow man has vast experience but seems to be settled at Preston North End.

Preston want to keep the 30-year-old beyond the expiry of his contract, which would mean another season-long loan, as he has a year left on his Everton deal or if Everton were willing to pay off his contract so he could join the Lilywhites for free.
