According to The Sun, Preston North End want to sign Declan Rudd this summer.

Declan Rudd is currently on loan at Charlton Athletic from Norwich City and the Addicks have expressed their desire to make his move permanent at the end of the season after he has impressed between the sticks for the League One side.

Rudd is out of contract at the end of this season and Norwich look unlikely to renew his deal considering that they have John Ruddy, Michael McGovern and Paul Jones on their books.

Preston are believed to be leading the chase for the 26-year-old, who has previously spent two separate loan spells at Deepdale.

When his contract expires in the summer, Simon Grayson is rumoured to be ready to swoop to land the in-demand goalkeeper, who is also attracting interest from a number of other Championship clubs and Charlton.

Preston want Rudd to compete with Chris Maxwell in goal next season.
