Preston North End have moved to deny any rumours of a bid from Premier League Norwich City for their star man, Callum Robinson.

The 12-goal attacker was reportedly the subject of a £6m bid from the Canaries earlier today, but taking to their official Twitter account, the Lancashire club made the move to completely deny they had received any bids for any of their players.

The move from Preston is a firm statement from the club and a blunt message which puts to bed any rumours that Robinson was indeed the subject of a bid from the Premier League newcomers, who are desperate to add to their squad following their surprise promotion last term.

Robinson has developed into the key man for Preston in recent times and interest was bound to be high in him this summer following an explosive season last term which saw him contribute impressively in both the goals and assists charts for Alex Neil's men.

Preston will no doubt be keen to resist any bids that may indeed come their way for Robinson, but will be well aware that Premier League money can sometimes make all the difference if Norwich do decide to come knocking with a firm offer.

The Verdict

This makes a nice change in all honesty for a club to make a move to deny ay sort of bids during the transfer season.

We see rumour upon rumour over the summer months and it takes a big move from a club to deny rumours categorically.

However, there is the old saying that there is no smoke without fire, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Norwich actually come in with a proper bid for Robinson over the coming days.
