Preston knock back Beavon enquiry

Published

on

Preston North End have told Wycombe Wanderers that Stuart Beavon is very much part of the Lillywhites plan for the 2014-15 season, after Wanderers enquired about Beavon for a potential return to Adams Park.

Beavon, who turned 30 just over a month ago, was understood to be in Wycombe’s plans to be subject of a loan deal.

The answer from Deepdale was a ‘no’ as North End look to keep their number 10 for the new season.

There was speculation about Beavon’s future at Deepdale after he was regularly left on the bench last season following the arrival of Craig Davies on loan from Bolton Wanderers, but the former Wycombe striker did get a run in the starting XI leading up to the Playoffs.

Beavon has only scored 12 times for Preston in his previous two seasons, but boss Simon Grayson is confident that the striker’s work ethic will pay off and he will shine in a Preston shirt.
