Preston North End could make a summer move for Charlton Athletic striker Karlan Ahearne-Grant, according to respected journalist Alan Nixon.

The 20-year-old striker has been impressing since making a January loan move to Crawley Town, plundering in eight goals in nine appearances to catch the eye of plenty of onlooking scouts, and now North End could be on the verge of making a swoop for the striker.

Ahearne-Grant, who is a striker full of pace and power, would no doubt relish the chance to make the step up to the Championship, despite only scoring once for Charlton in League One prior to making his short term January move away from the club.

Preston are on the look out for new strikers following the January sale themselves of star forward Jordan Hugill, and manager Alex Neil has no doubt seen the 20-year-old Ahearne Grant as the ideal sort of player who can come to the club and make a big impact.

Charlton themselves are making a late run at the playoffs in League One, and could well be hopeful of hanging onto their man if they can win promotion to the second tier.
