Preston face Premier League battle for talented Blackpool youngster

Although Blackpool has suffered from a fall from grace, they still have some excellent youngsters on the bus and, according to HITC, Sam Roscoe is attracting attention from Preston North End and Everton.

The 17-year-old centre-half has impressed since he made his debut at youth level at only 15 but it will be a surprise if Blackpool can keep the talented youngster at the club.

Roscoe has the stature at 6 foot 5 inches to dominate matches defensively and at only 17-years-old he also has the athletic ability to cover the ground well which shows how well rounded he is and how he has the attributes to play at any level of the game.

Although he still has a lot to learn and his decision making can be questionable, the maturity and footballing brain to know where to position himself and work with his centre-half partner but that will come experience and maturity.

Considering that Blackpool is Preston North End’s main rivals, it would be surprising if Roscoe was to move there, especially with Everton showing interest.

The Toffees have gained a reputation for taking young talent from the lower league with John Stones and Mason Holgate springing to mind and Sam Roscoe could be the next.

The Seasiders currently sit 20th in League One, just a point above the drop zone but Doncaster Rovers, who sit 21st, have a game in hand of their relegation rivals.
