According to today’s print edition of The Mirror (page 47,) Mo Diame is keen on a move to Aston Villa with him struggling to play at Newcastle.
The Villans have been going along nicely this season and, though they lost to Sheffield Wednesday last time out, they should be challenging for the play-off places at the very least.
Certainly, then, it’s an exciting time for Villa and January could hold the key for them to get promoted if they make the right signings during the window.
And, according to this report, Mo Diame apparently would be open to being a part of things with him struggling to play for Newcastle at the moment.
The midfielder has been used sparingly with the likes of Mikel Merino coming into the side and impressing and so he is bound to want to play more before too long.
And, with him playing under Bruce during their time at Hull, the midfielder knows what is expected of him and his sides and so the move could pay off.
Certainly, Diame will inject some extra energy into Villa’s midfield if he did sign but it is of course up to Bruce to decide whether he wants a reunion.
Villa have had a decent season so far and January is going to be important.
Diame has good experience at the sharp end of the Championship and that goes for him but it remains to be seen if Bruce wants to bring him in.
