Watford are just one of a host of Premier League sides looking to capture Ben Foster from recently-relegated West Brom, according to the Sun.

The report suggests that they're looking to bring him in as a replacement for Costel Pantilimon, who they hope will move to Forest. They face stiff competition from both Manchester United and Manchester City, with both hoping to secure him as their number two.

Foster first joined West Brom on loan from Birmingham City in 2012, making the deal permanent in 2013 for a fee reportedly around the £4m mark. He has previously played for both Watford and Manchester United.

The 35-year old started out at Stoke City, but was spotted by Alex Ferguson playing on loan at Wrexham and snapped up. He made 23 appearances in three seasons for United, but spent two seasons on loan with the Hornets where he played 81 times.

The report suggests that Watford are readying an eye-watering £10m for Foster, who has eight England caps to his name.

The Verdict

£10m for a 35-year old? It seems a fanciful figure and there's no doubt the two Manchester clubs won't be spending that on a number two. Foster is a good keeper, but is he £10m good at 35-years old?
