Crystal Palace are readying an offer for Fulham right-back Ryan Fredericks with the player out of contract at the end of the season.

Fredericks has established himself as arguably the best right-back outside the Premier League, which was backed up with an includion in the PFA Team of the Year.

And, that form hasn't gone unnoticed with Palace one of several clubs showing an interest in the 25-year old.

According to the Express, Roy Hodgson made personal checks on Fredericks in the Cottagers recent play-off semi-final win over Derby and was clearly impressed.

The report states the former England manager is ready to make his move although a lot will depend on how Fulham get on in the play-off final against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Should Slavisa Jokanovic's men fail to win then Fredericks departure seems inevitable however if they are playing in the top-flight next season he may end up staying.

West Ham United had been heavily linked with the player but the departure of David Moyes could end their interest.

The Verdict

Whatever happens on Saturday at Wembley, Ryan Fredericks will be a Premier League player and it's easy to see why so many clubs are interested.

He boasts great pace and is effective going forward as well being sound defensively.

It would be a very smart signing for Crystal Palace but Fulham will hope securing promotion may be enough to convince Fredericks to stay.
