Burnley are 'highly likely' to make a move once again for former player Jay Rodriguez, who appears set to leave West Brom this summer.

The Baggies forward is believed to be available for just £5m due to a clause in his contract and that has prompted a lot of speculation about his future after a fine season where he scored 22 goals.

And, Burnley are one of the clubs monitoring the player, with the Sky Sports Transfer Centre (10:18) revealing that the Clarets will reignite their long-term interest in the coming weeks.

Sean Dyche's side saw a £16m bid rejected for the 29-year-old last year after the Baggies had been relegated from the Premier League.

Should a move to Turf Moor go through it will see Rodriguez return to the club that he began his professional career at. He played over 100 times for his local club before leaving for top-flight Southampton back in 2012.

His departure would be a big blow for Albion who have already lost their top scorer from last season after Dwight Gayle went back to Newcastle after a loan spell.

The Verdict

Rodriguez is clearly a player that Dyche rates so it's no surprise to see that they will be keen on doing a deal once again, particularly when you look at the fee mentioned.

Although, they could face a battle to land the striker, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

It's tough for Slaven Bilic who has just taken over at The Hawthorns but he will have replacements in mind already.
