West Bromwich Albion have made an approach for Brentford defender James Tarkowski, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The Midlands side are thought to have spoken to the player’s agent on the possibility of a move to the Hawthorns this month.
The defender has been a key part of The Bees’ defence this season keeping five clean sheets in his 22 appearances for the club.
The Baggies are set to rival Championship side Burnley who had a £2.5 million bid rejected by Brentford for the defender.
The 23-year-old’s performances have attracted the attention of many clubs with Derby County, Norwich City & Sheffield Wednesday all interested in signing the player.
At the age of 23, Tarkowski would be seen as a long-term solution for an array of clubs, as this is something that will undoubtedly make him such a sought-after defender.
Meanwhile in the league, Brentford currently occupy 10th place in the Championship, and the defender could possibly play his last game at Griffin Park tonight when they face top of the league Middlesbrough.
