Cardiff City are preparing to firm up their interest in Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira with a £7m bid, according to The Mirror's Live Transfer Blog [16th July, 21:01].

The Bluebirds are planning to test Leeds' resolve by submitting this transfer bid as they continue to look to strengthen their squad for their upcoming Premier League campaign.

Neil Warnock's transfer policy has seen him dip into the Championship for a number of his signings, already snapping up Bobby Reid from Bristol City, Brett Cunningham from Preston North End and Josh Murphy from Norwich City.

Cardiff are plotting yet another swoop for a second tier star as they line up this bid for Vieira.

The 19-year-old is already a well-established player in the Championship, featuring 71 times in a white shirt.

The England under-21 international, who plays as a central midfielder, is highly rated and tipped to be a future star.

The former Benfica youngster still has three years left on the long-term contract he signed last summer but Cardiff are ready to swoop to bolster their midfield options.

The Verdict

Leeds need to stand firm on this and refuse this offer.

If Vieira continues to develop at the rate he is current going at, he will be worth more than double that in a couple of years.

And perhaps a Premier League switch is premature for the talented teenager, whose game is developing so well by playing regular Championship football.
