QPR's Ryan Manning is a major target for Newcastle United as Steve Bruce's side set their sights on the versatile player.

Football Insider have reported that Manning is on Newcastle's radar heading into the January transfer window as Bruce and his team continue to look for bargains.

Manning has been part of a QPR side that has improved massively since the start of this season, and he has helped them change their targets for the campaign as they look to challenge near the top of the table with their new look side.

Mark Warburton has been influential in the turnaround at the club, and also in the positioning of Manning. The 23-year-old had played the majority of his games in the midfield, but since Warburton has taken charge, Manning has been predominantly a left-back in the R's side and has excelled in a wing-back position.

His improvement hasn't gone unnoticed and a Premier League move may be on the horizon in the near future.

The Verdict

Manning has been excellent this season and it's no wonder that teams in the Premier League are starting to take notice of the youngster.

If Newcastle can prize him away from the West London side for a cheap price, then it could be one of the bargains of the January transfer window. They'll be hoping to do that and then build a side that is capable of staying and flourishing in the Premier League.

QPR will be hoping to keep the versatile player, and if they can that could mean that there would be more of an opportunity of making it into the top six this season.
