Premier League outfit West Brom have made a formal £4 million offer for Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips, according to the Birmingham Mail.
Both Phillips and QPR had a disappointing season, with the former bagging just 7 goals in 32 league games, whilst the latter laboured to a 12th place finish in the Championship, a full 14 points off their minimum aim of the Play-Offs.
The Scottish winger was deployed as a lone striker for the majority of the second half of the season, after Charlie Austin departed for Premier League Southampton, and January signing Conor Washington failed to hit the ground running, and had a miserable time.
Phillips belongs out on the wing where his pace and direct approach can terrorise opposition full backs, and Tony Pulis will be able to assure the Scot that he will play in his favoured position.
A move to the Premier League will be very attractive to Phillips, but for boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, it will be another blow to lose another key player.
