Brighton owner Tony Bloom has claimed that there are unlikely to be any definitive decisions made in tomorrow's Premier League meeting.

Top-flight clubs will meet with representatives from the league tomorrow to discuss issues surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is understood that a proposal that the season should be concluded by the end of June, whether or not all fixtures have been played, is set to be put to the league among other suggestions.

It was suggested earlier today that prospect of promoting Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion, the Championship's top two, to the Premier League would be discussed in tomorrow's meeting.

The duo are well set in the automatic promotion places and the suggestion that their promotion would be on the agenda tomorrow offered some hope over a resolution.

However, the Brighton owner has told BBC Sport's Simon Stone that it is unlikely anything definitive will come out of the meeting.

That claim hints at more frustration for Leeds and West Brom, who will be worried about their promotion hopes until a definitive decision is reached.

The delay to the EFL season has gone on for more than a month due to the Covid-19 crisis and at this point it remains unclear if, how and when it will be resumed.

The Verdict

Bloom's claim certainly hints at more uncertainty and frustration for Leeds and West Brom, as they wait to see how Premier League decision-making will impact their promotion hopes.

The suggestion that the topic would be breached at tomorrow's meeting hinted at a potential resolution but this latest turn indicates that will be unlikely.

It appears more patience is required for fans of the Championship's top two.
