James Maddison is on David Moyes’ radar this month, with the Scot keen to take the Norwich City attacking midfielder to West Ham United during the final stage of the January transfer window, as reported by the Mirror’s live transfer blog (23/01, 05:41).

Moyes is keen to bolster his West Ham squad towards the end of this month’s transfer window, with Maddison emerging as a potential target for the Hammers, after a fine start to the season with Norwich in the Sky Bet Championship.

Maddison, who is contracted to the Canaries until the summer of 2021, has made 31 senior appearances across all competitions under Daniel Farke this season, with the 21-year-old scoring eight goals and assisting a further eight across all competitions.

The youngster has been a shining light for Norwich in what has been a difficult start to the season under Farke, who only arrived at Carrow Road during the summer.

The Canaries currently sit 13th in the Championship table, and have failed to mount a serious push for the play-offs, despite Maddison’s fine form.

Norwich are nine points adrift of the top-six, with Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United dealing Farke’s side another blow in their quest for play-off football.

The Verdict

Maddison has been exceptional this season, with his form for the Canaries a real highlight of their season.

At 21, Maddison has the potential to reach the top, which he will regardless of whether he makes a move to West Ham this month.

West Ham are looking a lot better under Moyes’ management, and a move to the London Stadium could be one that interests Maddison at this stage of his career.
