Daniel Farke will be only too aware of the need to add some firepower to his Norwich City side.

The Canaries struggled in front of goal last season: a meagre haul of 49 goals returned a disappointing 14th placed finish as midfielder James Maddison was the only player to top ten league goals. If they want to spend more of next season looking up than down, a reliable finisher up top is a must. For this, they should look to Tammy Abraham.

The 20-year-old forward struggled for form at Swansea last season and Chelsea could be likely to send him out on loan again next season. Despite scoring five times, he found himself increasingly on the bench and made just one start in 2018. While doubts linger over whether he is ready to thrive in the Premier League, he has more than proved himself in the Championship. Despite the club’s struggles, Abraham’s spell at Bristol City was a resounding success as he scored 26 times in the 2016/17 season.

Abraham may be hesitant of returning to the Championship. However, the Canaries would be able to offer a regular starting place. This is essential for Abraham if he is to rediscover his form and his confidence. Few Premier League clubs will be looking his way; any who do will see him as a squad player. Farke should capitalise on this. If he can, he could well lure an England international to Carrow Road.
