The mood around Elland Road isn’t the best right now, with Leeds United’s chance of competing in the Sky Bet Championship’s play-offs looking thin.  

It looked like Leeds would be challenging for the top-six once again this season, but even under Paul Heckingbottom, they are struggling to work their way back into contention, sitting eight points adrift of the top-six.

Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw with Derby County brought plenty of encouragement, but ultimately, Leeds didn’t do enough to win the game and conceded a late equaliser to Kasey Palmer.

One player who struggled at Derby on Wednesday was Ronaldo Vieira, who Heckingbottom has been forced to defend in his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Brentford this afternoon.

The 19-year-old has blown hot and cold for large parts of the season for Leeds, failing to rediscover the form that made him a firm favourite at Elland Road last year.
