Newly promoted Brighton want to sign Sunderland midfielder Seb Larsson, according to the Sunderland Echo.
The Swedish international will no doubt be one of the top earners at the Stadium of Light, and following a week where Sunderland have lost their star man Jordan Pickford, this could be another blow for the North East club.
The 32-year-old Swede though is out of contract in a few weeks time, and although Sunderland want to keep hold of Larsson, a move back to the Premier League with Chris Hughton and Brighton could prove too tempting for him.
Larsson has been a regular of the Mackems since making the move to England as a youngster with Arsenal in the early 2000’s. He moved onto Birmingham where he forged out an excellent reputation for himself, before sealing a transfer to Sunderland in 2011.
The Black Cats were relegated to the Championship last season as they endured a miserable season under David Moyes, and they have since parted company with the former Man United manager, while they are struggling at the moment to find a replacement.
