Norwich City could see their promotion bid derailed somewhat with Premier League title hopefuls Spurs looking to sign flying left back Max Aarons.

The 18-year-old has been superb this term for the Canaries, and now, according to the Pink Un, Mauricio Pochettino's men are keen on making a £15m move for the youngster as they once again seek to add the best talent from the lower leagues to their ranks.

However, there could be an agreement in place between the clubs that if any deal is made, Spurs could allow Aarons to remain at Carrow Road for the rest of the season as Daniel Farke's men look to keep up their momentum and secure a top two finish.

Aarons has become a key member of Farke's squad as they have surprisingly climbed to the top of the Championship along with Leeds United, and Farke would no doubt be disappointed to lose his man.

A loan deal back to the club would obviously be ideal if Aarons was to leave for the Premier League, where he would hope to follow in the footsteps of fellow former Canaries James Maddison and Josh Murphy in recent seasons.

The Verdict

This would be a blow for Norwich but it comes with the territory of being at the top of the Championship and having quality young players.

Aarons is a class act, and he is always going to get Premier League attention, and a move to Spurs would probably be the best move he could make if he is to step up.

The loan move back makes sense too, so it could well be a good deal all around if it goes through.
