Liverpool have claimed the upper hand in the race to sign rising Norwich star Jacob Murphy, with the reds eyeing a January swoop according to The Mirror.
Liverpool, who are competing with Tottenham for Murphy’s signature, are prepared to allow Murphy to return to Carrow Road for the remainder of the season.
This could sway Norwich into doing a deal with Liverpool, with The Canaries still in with an outside chance of promotion, they need to keep hold of their best players until at least the end of the season.
Spurs have been keeping tabs on Murphy too, and Mauricio Pochettino been closely monitoring the 21-year-old’s progress ahead of the January window, but it remains to be seen whether Spurs will offer him back on loan.
Another Premier League team eyeing a move for the promising winger is Everton. They are believed to have been interested in a double swoop for Jacob, and his twin brother, Josh.
