Bristol City defender Joe Bryan is subject to interest from Premier League duo Everton and Newcastle United, according to David Anderson who has broke the news on The Mirror's live transfer blog at 14:08 this afternoon.

The Robins' left-back has been in scintillating form this season and he has played an integral part in the team that has reached the last four of the League Cup.

Premier League interest was to be expected given the nature of Bryan's all-action performances and it now remains to be seen whether or not a top flight club will be forthcoming with a concrete bid.

At 24-years-old Bryan boasts lots of potential and he does seems destined to play in the Premier League at some point, with or without Bristol City.

With the Robins challenging at the top end of the Championship, City boss Lee Johnson will be desperately hoping that he can thwart Premier League advances for one of his key men until the summer at the very least.

The Verdict

Joe Bryan has been one of the best defenders in the Championship this season and it is little surprise that certain Premier League clubs appear to be knocking on the door of Bristol City.

It seems only natural that clubs will be looking at Lee Johnson's squad given their solid league form and incredible run to the last four of the League Cup.

Bryan would relish the chance to play in the Premier League but given his age it is vital that he continues to play regular football and he must bear that in mind before making any decision over his future.
