Luton Town manager Mick Harford has revealed that scouts from a host of Premier League clubs have watched his side in action this season.

The Hatters have endured a sensational season to date, with the departure of Nathan Jones to Stoke City now a distant memory at Kenilworth Road.

Harford is yet to lose a league game since taking the reins of the club, with his side currently on a club-record unbeaten run of 27 league games.

The Hatters look well on course to achieve back-to-back promotions this season, after an array of eye-catching displays.

And, after speaking to Luton Today, Harford has revealed that his side's performances haven't gone unnoticed, with a host of top-flight clubs being present to watch the Hatters cement their position at the top of the League One table.

He said: "We’ve got some good players here and I’m sure that people will be looking - I get a list of scouts that attend our games and there’s always a lot of Premier League and Championship scouts there watching our players, so it’s testament to them that they’re doing well."

After a 2-1 away victory over Bristol Rovers last weekend, Luton currently sit seven points clear of 2nd placed Barnsley, and have already secured their position in the play-off spots at the very least.

Promotion via the play-offs looks increasingly unlikely now though, with the Hatters sitting 12 points clear of 3rd spot, albeit with Portsmouth and Sunderland having games in hand.

The Verdict

This development really doesn't surprise me, as Luton Town have been magnificent from start to finish this season.

They took League Two by storm last season, however you sensed the feeling that they weren't finished there.

They have plenty of talented youngsters at the club, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of James Justin, Jack Stacey and Pelly Ruddock-Mpanzu be snapped up by Premier League clubs in the near future.
