According to an exclusive report by L’equipe via TeamTalk, Premier League sides Chelsea and Liverpool have joined the race for Newcastle United midfielder, Moussa Sissoko.
Sissoko one of the most heavily sought after players that is likely to leave Newcastle United this summer with the French international already beginning to draw attention from across Europe.
It was reported earlier this week that Hamburg had put in an official bid for the French midfielder but Sissoko may instead opt to remain in England, particularly if Chelsea and Liverpool were to make a move for the 28-year-old midfielder.
Although he had a disappointing sub-par season by his standard, Sissoko still believes he has the ability to succeed at the highest level.
As Rafa Benitez looks to overhaul the squad and create a squad that will be able to succeed at the Championship level, the sale of Sissoko could free both money and wages to spend on the rest of the squad.
Newcastle could take a similar approach to Queens Park Rangers and loan their prize assets rather than sell them in the hope they can be of use if the club was to make a swift return to the Premier League, however, the Championship is notoriously difficult to get out of as we know.
Newcastle fans, how do you feel about the news? Would you be disappointed to see Moussa Sissoko leave? How much do you think he is worth? Do you think Sissoko is unfairly criticised? Would you look to loan him out rather than sell him? Let us hear your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
