Premier League clubs among sides plotting move for Ipswich Town striker

A host of Premier League and Championship clubs are reportedly looking at Ipswich striker David McGoldrick as a potential transfer target next season, according to HITC Sport.

Injuries restricted the 28-year -ld’s impact on Ipswich’s campaign last season, but after returning to full fitness, the former Forest and Southampton man showed glimpses of the form that has seen his stocks rise dramatically during his spell at Portman Road.

McGoldrick joined the Tractor Boys from Nottingham Forest in 2013 after a loan spell at the club where he netted 4 times in 13 matches.

He went on to bag another 25 in his next 81 appearances for Mick McCarthy’s men.

In 2014, last season’s Premier League champions Leicester City saw an eye-watering £8 million bid for the Ipswich striker rejected, which gives you an idea of how highly the McCarthy values him.

Whilst no formal bid has been launched yet, you get the feeling that Ipswich wont be prepared to let him go without a fight.
