Premier League club set to drop their interest in £30m Sunderland star

Everton are keen on signing Jordan Pickford from Sunderland but will not match their asking price, according to The Liverpool Echo.

Everton are looking for a new goalkeeper after Joel Robles and Maarten Stekelenburg had indifferent seasons between the sticks.

Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was the standout performer for the Black Cats despite their relegation to the Championship.

The 23-year-old is now being chased by a number of top flight clubs but Sunderland have stood firm and demanded £30m for their promising young star.

Everton submitted an £8m bid for the England under-21 international – who has also spent time with the senior squad – but Sunderland rejected that.

The Toffees are reportedly willing to spend up to £15m on Pickford but will drop their interest if Sunderland continue to insist on £30m.

West Ham are another club that are interested in the Sunderland ace but £30m is a steep price for anyone to match.

Sunderland fans – are you pleased with the £30m price tag? Can you keep Pickford this summer? Let us know below…
