According to a report by HITC Sport, Burnley have entered the race to sign Jonny Howson.

Burnley have enquired about the availability of the Norwich City midfielder and are hoping to swoop ahead of Leeds United in the race for his signature.

Norwich City are reportedly willing to sell Jonny Howson despite his consistent performances for the Canaries in the middle of the park.

The cash-strapped Championship side are hoping to raise funds to recruit new signings and Howson has emerged as a player that could be flogged for this reason.

The 29-year-old has been with Norwich City since 2012 and has played almost 200 games for them in the Premier League, Championship and domestic cup competitions.

Howson joined Norwich from Leeds and he had been tipped for a return to Elland Road.

The former England under-21 international played over 200 senior games for Leeds after graduating from their academy and he had been lined up as a summer transfer target.

After scoring six goals and adding eight assists for Norwich last season, Howson is now on the radar of Premier League Burnley.

Burnley raided Norwich for Robbie Brady in the January transfer window and have now enquired about Howson.

The talented central midfielder still has two years left on his contract but Norwich will sell him if they receive a decent transfer fee for their vice captain.
