Premier League club keen on Leeds and Newcastle defenders

Crystal Palace have lined up a number of defensive targets for January and Championship duo Paul Dummett and Charlie Taylor are on the Eagles’ radar, according to The Guardian.

Alan Pardew is making extensive January recruitment plans despite uncertainty surrounding his future at Selhurst Park.

Left back is a position that Crystal Palace are very keen on improving.

High on their list is Newcastle United defender Paul Dummett, who would be reunited with Alan Pardew after the pair worked together at St James’ Park.

The 25-year-old is enjoying a regular run in the team this season as Newcastle top the pile in the second tier.

Palace are hoping to tempt the Wales international away from Newcastle, which would see him end an eight year association with the club.

Also on their radar is Leeds’ left back Charlie Taylor.

The 23-year-old is a marauding full back who has been strongly linked with Newcastle, Liverpool, West Brom and West Ham over the summer and since.

In addition to the Championship pair, Crystal Palace have targeted Luke Shaw on loan from Manchester United but the South London club have been rebuffed by the sporadic England international, who is not interested in that move.

They have also looked at Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.

Leeds and Newcastle fans – can you keep Taylor/Dummett? How much would you demand for your left back? Let us know in the comments below…
