According to French newspaper La Provence via Get Football News France, Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi is subject to interest from both Olympique de Marseille and Everton.
Jordan Amavi has been strongly linked with French Ligue 1 side Marseille and the report suggests that their sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has held two rounds of discussions with Amavi’s representatives.
But it appears that Premier League club Everton have joined the race for Aston Villa’s young defender.
Everton could be in pole position if Marseille cannot get Amavi to compromise on his wage demands.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a successful start to life in England with then-Premier League Aston Villa but ruptured his cruciate ligament in November, which ruled him out of the whole season.
Everton, who are thought to be interested in the Frenchman, already have Leighton Baines, Brendan Galloway, Bryan Oviedo and Luke Garbutt as left backs on their books.
