Everton are currently 8/11 favourites with SkyBet to sign Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford this summer, with the goalkeeper’s future well speculated following the Black Cats’ relegation from the Premier League.
Sunderland are heading into the Sky Bet Championship for the first time since 2007, and are already resigned to losing top goalscorer Jermain Defoe, who is set to join AFC Bournemouth.
Pickford was Sunderland’s standout performer during the 2016/17 campaign, and despite the club suffering relegation, the 23-year old enhanced his reputation with some fine performances during his 29 Premier League appearances.
The goalkeeper is priced at 11/2 to remain with Sunderland in the Championship, and bookmakers are heavily predicting that Pickford will be playing his football under Ronald Koeman at Everton next season.
The Liverpool ECHO understands that Everton have recently had a £8m bid for Pickford rejected, with Sunderland valuing the 23-year old around £30m.
