Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski is a transfer target for Crystal Palace this month, according to an exclusive report by The Sun.

Crystal Palace are thinking about bringing in a new goalkeeper as Roy Hodgson looks to keep his side in the Premier League and Bialkowski has emerged on their radar.

The Eagles are willing to pay £3.5m for the Ipswich goalkeeper but Mick McCarthy's men are planning to hold firm and not sell him for any figure below their valuation of £4m.

With Wayne Hennessey and Julian Speroni both failing to impress Hodgson, a new goalkeeper is one of his priorities in January as he looks to add his own personal stamp to this squad.

Since taking over, the former England manager has lifted Crystal Palace from the bottom of the Premier League and they now sit 12th, although relegation is not out of the question just yet.

Bialkowski has plenty of experience in England, having spent six years with Southampton between 2006 and 2012 before enjoying a two year stint with Notts County after that.

The former Poland under-21 stopper then moved to Ipswich in 2014 and he has played over 100 games for the Tractor Boys since that move.

Crystal Palace are now keen on offering him Premier League football.

The Verdict

Bialkowski needs to ask himself whether, at the age of 30, this is the correct career move for him. Playing at Crystal Palace would give him a good chance at becoming a regular in the Premier League while his dreams of making the top flight with Ipswich look less realistic. As for Ipswich, they will need a replacement as Bialkowski has been an integral part of their first team for quite a while now.
