Premier League club eye Aston Villa man, swap deal on the cards

Premier League club Crystal Palace are plotting a swoop for Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede, according to the Guardian.

The article, which also states that Alan Pardew is after Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ben Davies, says that the South London club are after the Benin international.

The 28-year-old has scored 8 times in 43 games for Steve Bruce’s men, and finds himself behind Jonathan Kodjia and Ross McCormack in the pecking order.

The Eagles, who have Loic Remy and Connor Wickham out with injury, need a striker to support Christian Benteke up top, making Gestede the perfect addition.

This move could open the door for a swap move, with out-of-favour midfielder Jordon Mutch looking to be part of the deal as both clubs look to wrap up a deal.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, Villa lost 1-0 to Norwich City in their last Sky Bet Championship match at Carrow Road, and will be looking to get back to winning ways when they clash with QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday.

So…What do you think Villa fans? Should Rudy Gestede leave Villa Park? Does he deserve another chance under Bruce? Leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
