Carlisle United face a real fight to keep hold of goalkeeper Mark Gillespie who is interesting several Premier League clubs, according to ESPN FC.
Gillespie was in fantastic form last night as Carlisle United took Premier League giants Liverpool all the way to penalty kicks, before eventually succumbing to defeat.
The 23-year-old is a product of the Carlisle United youth academy and has gone on to make 65 appearances for the club.
He was the youngest goalkeeper to ever play for Carlisle when he made his debut as an 18-year-old and is now a mainstay between the posts for Keith Curle’s team.
It is thought that Leicester City are one of several clubs targeting a move for the Newcastle-born custodian, whilst Championship duo Burnley and Brighton and Hove Albion are also keeping tabs on his development.
Carlisle are unbeaten in five league games at present and a large part of that form is down to the performances of Gillespie in between the sticks.
Curle’s side currently sit in tenth place in the Sky Bet League Two table, and face a tough match at home to Welsh club Newport County on Saturday.
