A number of Barclays Premier League and Sky Bet Championship clubs are eyeing up a potential move for Bury starlet Matty Foulds, according to Shoot.
And Bury manager David Flitcroft has yesterday confirmed that a bid has been made for the 17 -year-old defender from an unnamed club.
The young centre-back is fast becoming a sought after player as the likes of Aston Villa, Everton and Derby County all remain interested in his services.
Whether or not it is one of those clubs that made the bid remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt that Bury’s resolve will be tested in the coming weeks from growing interest.
And despite the fact that Foulds is yet to make his league debut for the League One club, he is a player with vast potential that clubs in the top-two tiers of English football are keen to harness.
Investing in future talent is becoming increasingly important for Football League and Premier League sides and the interested teams will no doubt see Foulds as a future star.
However, Bury will argue that the best place for the youngster’s development is Gigg Lane, where first-team football may be more likely to come by.
