Birmingham City boss Garry Monk will not walk away from St. Andrew's even though his future has been thrown into doubt this morning.

Reports emerged suggesting the ex-Leeds boss could be set to leave Blues after disagreements with chief executive Xuandong Ren about the wage budget and the decision to sell playmaker Jota to rivals Aston Villa.

Obviously, that would be a major blow for Blues as Monk has one a remarkable job since taking over and has managed to unite the fan base.

However, TalkSPORT's Midlands reporter Tom Ross has revealed that the 40-year-old has no intention of leaving and is planning ahead for the new season.

Whilst he also acknowledged that doesn't rule out the hierarchy sacking Monk, that does seem unlikely given the backlash it would bring.

Therefore, the fans were very pleased by this update as they are desperate for the manager to stay for years to come.
