Leeds United winger Ezgjan Alioski has been a regular for Marcelo Bielsa this season, either out on the wing or standing in as a left-back in the absence of Barry Douglas.

With the 27-year-old's game developing massively under the tutelage of Bielsa, as confirmed by the player on Leeds Live he has been Bielsa's go to left-back for the last few weeks.

So moving forward, should Alioski retain his place at left-back?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"Definitely.

"Pound for pound, he's done a better job than Douglas. Yes, Douglas' end product is better but his overall defensive and attacking game is behind Alioski.

"The summer signing will need to prove himself again."

Jacob Potter

"He impressed me last week.

"Alioski is improving as the season progresses, and he produced a solid display against Swansea last week.

"His attacking ability will come in handy against Bolton and Bielsa should definitely be starting him in this one."

Gary Hutchinson

“I like him at left back, but when Douglas is fit, he plays.

“Alioski is not a winger, they lack penetration when he’s on the flank.

“He’s got a role to play in the coming weeks, but I see him as a back up to Douglas.”

Alfie Burns

“Absolutely, he’s been outstanding.

“Obviously Roofe’s injury might mean Bielsa is forced to shake things up and bring Douglas in at left-back, pushing Alioski further forward in the process.

“However, on current form, he’d be my first choice left-back.”

Jay Taylor

“Why not – he’s performing well.

“I see no reason to change it as he is holding his own – if he was poor, I would understand, but he isn’t out of his depth.

“It just gives Barry Douglas a kick up the backside to improve and force his way back into the side as we have not seen the best of him since his move from Wolves in the summer.”
