Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has refused to rule out recalling Harry Wilson in January after his impressive season so far.

The Welsh international joined Frank Lampard's side in the summer and has quickly established himself as a key player for the Rams.

Wilson is the top league scorer at Pride Park with seven, with many of those memorable strikes.

And, whilst Klopp is happy with how the 21-year-old has developed, he knows that a few injuries could mean he is needed back at Anfield.

"If now something happens in an offensive wing position why should I say today 100 per cent we would not do it," he told the Evening Standard.

"Derby accepted when they signed the contract, they have to wait until the last second before we decide. We don't want to take him away only if we really need him, then we would trigger that option."

The German coach did go on to praise Lampard for the way he has handled Wilson and revealed that he is a fan of their style of play.

"Otherwise he is there in a fantastic team and I really like watching him."

Wilson is sure to be involved on Monday night as the Rams prepare to host bitter rivals Nottingham Forest in what should be a very entertaining clash.

The Verdict

This is completely fair from Klopp and clearly it's going to be down to the injury situation at the Premier League leaders.

Therefore, Derby fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that nothing happens as Wilson is a very important player for them.

He has been superb so far this season and will be a key figure for Lampard's side moving forward.
