Norwich City midfielder James Maddison has given a clear indication of his ambitions by stating he wants to play in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports, via a report on Team Talk, the influential Canaries midfielder said he is 'happy to be playing games' but reiterated that his ambition is 'to play in the Premier League'.

The news will be a worrying blow for some Norwich fans, who saw their club hang on to their prized asset in January despite plenty of interest from the likes of Liverpool, Spurs, and even Manchester City.

Maddison has been in stunning form for the Carrow Road club this season after making the move to the club from Coventry City, and looks to have all the hallmarks of becoming a top Premier League player sooner or later. However, he has at the moment remained loyal to the club, although that could all change in the summer.

Maddison added“It’s about showing the world what I can do at this level at the moment, and hopefully I can play at the top of the game whenever I get there.”

Any move for Maddison is likely to only be accepted by Norwich if a hefty fee is met, with differing reports over the last few weeks stating anything between £20m and £30m as being an acceptable figure for the young midfield ace.

Norwich fans, what do you make of this? How much is Maddison worth? Let us know in the comments!
