Newcastle United will apparently start the bidding at £20m for striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to a report in the Chronicle.

The striker, currently on loan with Fulham, has smashed in 12 goals since joining in January and has become a key cog for Slavisa Jokanovic as the Cottagers have mounted a push towards the top two in the Championship.

Flanked by Ryan Sessegnon and Tom Cairney in the main, Mitrovic has endeared himself to Fulham fans with not only his goals, but his desire and work rate to impress following his failed spell in the north east with the Toon Army.

However, with Newcastle slapping such a fee on their man, it could well price Fulham out of a move, unless they can indeed seal top flight football and put up the money for the big Serbian.

Mitrovic joined Newcaslte for around £12m when he signed for the club from Belgian outfit Anderlecht, but failed to nail down a regular place with the Magpies despite a promising enough start.

The 23-year-old will be hoping for a move this summer and will be hopeful he can fire the Cottagers to promotion and seal a move back to Craven Cottage come the summer.

Fulham fans, what do you think? Should you sign Mitrovic? Let us know in the comments!
