Sunderland fans will be delighted with their team's performances as they adjust to life in League 1, after a disappointing couple of recent seasons.

The Black Cats are currently 2nd in the League 1 table and they are the form team in the third-tier of English football with Jack Ross' side currently on an eight match winning streak which they will look to continue this weekend.

Ross and his Sunderland team host Wycombe Wanderers at the Stadium of Light in a game where they will be expected to extend that impressive winning streak.

The form shown by the likes of Josh Maja and George Honeyman are sure to increase speculation about their future's at the club, but Ross will be hoping they can stick with the Black Cats to help with their promotion push this season.

But could Jack Ross be tempted to add some much needed depth to his squad in January to add to the already impressive firepower in their squad.

We look at three potential signings Ross should consider in January.

Find out who they are here....

The Reading forward has struggled to make an impact under Paul Clement and has been restricted to just two starts in the Championship all season.

Since arriving from Coventry in the summer, McNulty would have hoped to have made a more significant impact this season for the Royals.

He has already proved that he can score goals in the lower leagues and could be an ideal player to challenge Josh Maja for the starting spot in Ross' squad.

Smith has made just two starts for QPR this season and he is sure to be itching to leave Loftus Road in January when the transfer window reopens.

Having made only 17 starts last season, he is evidently struggling for game time, so he would be an excellent addition for Jack Ross' side as they mount their charge for promotion this season.

The 19-year-old joined Wigan in the summer but is yet to make a league start for the Championship side.

The youngster was a regular in the Peterborough side last season which saw him earn a move to Wigan, and he is proven at League 1 level.

A loan deal would be the most likely deal here and he would challenge the likes of George Honeyman for a starting spot t the Stadium of Light.
