Norwich City have enjoyed a fantastic first few months of the season, with Daniel Farke's men currently leading the way in the Championship.

Few would've expected that after the Canaries lost Josh Murphy and the highly influential James Maddison in the summer.

Yet, the German coach has implemented a clear style of play and the side are responding with consistent, strong performances.

The remarkable 4-3 comeback win over Millwall last time out highlighted the confidence and togetherness in the group and there will be a real belief that they can win promotion.

However, many observers feel that Farke's squad is lacking that extra bit of quality in key areas - but that can be addressed in January.

Here we look at THREE additions in the New Year that could help the side last the distance in the promotion race...

This would obviously be an ambitious move, but Sheffield Wednesday are a club seemingly going nowhere and Bannan may welcome the chance to join a side that could be in the Premier League in six months.

In terms of his ability, it would be a no-brainer for Farke as the Scotsman has superb technique and knows all about the division.

He would settle in easily and would be a statement signing.

Farke may also be interested in another attacking midfield option, and Dowell fits the bill.

He is extremely talented and will be eager for a move away from Everton to get regular football.

He has proven himself at this level with Nottingham Forest, where he scored nine league goals last season, and is another that has the style of play that would suit Norwich.

Even though Teemu Pukki is flying and Jordan Rhodes is proving a very useful option, Norwich could still lack goals as the season progresses.

And, Wolves man Bonatini has proved he can deliver in the Championship and should be available as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to bring in another number nine to Molineux in January.

Again, Bonatini's all-round game would work in Norwich's stylish play, so he would certainly bring something to the team.
