The EFL are reportedly considering wiping Bolton Wanderers’ results from the season if they go into administration before the end of the season, reports the Sun.

The club are set to go before the high-court on Wednesday as they face a winding up petition with HMRC demanding ÂŁ1.2million be paid in taxes.

If the court the club a winding up order, it will leave them with just a weak to avoid liquidation and a potential 12 point deduction.

Anderson has been coming under fire this season after failing to pay the wages of playing staff as well as the club’s caterers leading to training being cancelled on more than one occasion.

The Trotters currently sit second from bottom of the Championship table with eight games of the current season remaining, also scoring the least amount in the entire division.

Nine points separates from safety at the moment with League One football looking almost inevitable next season.

The verdict

This would make things very, very interesting.

Considering the likes of Leeds, Norwich and Sheffield United have all taken six points off the Trotters already it would really shake up the table.

It would be unheard of and obviously it would be best if it was avoided.
