Tottenham may opt to terminate Troy Parrott's loan deal at Millwall in a bid to send the youngster back out to another club, according to Football Insider.

Football Insider initially reported before Christmas that Spurs intended on recalling the teenager in the January window.

However, a matter of days later, boss Gary Rowett told the South London Press that Millwall hadn't been in contact with Jose Mourinho's team over the possibility of an early termination for Parrott.

But Football Insider has revealed that recalling the striker before sending him back out on loan is now a "likely option" before tonight's 11pm deadline.

7 of these 18 facts about Millwall boss Gary Rowett are fake – Can you identify which ones aren’t true?

Parrott hasn't featured in any of Millwall's previous three Championship matches, and is still yet to score in 14 appearances in all competitions for the South London outfit.

Big things were expected of Parrott when he made the move across the capital last summer, but he's endured a difficult period with the Lions, including two injuries prior to making his league debut.

The Verdict

Unfortunately, it just hasn't quite happened for Parrott at The Den.

All that momentum and confidence gained by scoring goals in pre-season was quickly diminished with injuries that completed overshadowed the opening two months of his season-long loan spell.

And with Rowett not opting to use the youngster in any of Millwall's previous league games, that might just have been a final indication from the Lions boss that his time in SE16 might just be coming to an end.
