Sunderland could be set for a blow in their pursuit of Bradford City forward Charlie Wyke, with Championship side Bolton Wanderers also keen on making a move for the striker.

According to a report in the Bolton News, the Trotters could be set to make their move for the impressive Wyke, who has already been the subject of a bid from Sunderland this weekend.

Wyke is a man in demand this summer after impressing for Bradford over the past couple of seasons, and a move to the Championship could well appeal to the player, despite initially appearing to be very keen on a move to the northeast with the Black Cats.

The former Middlesbrough youngster scored 16 goals for the Bantams last season as the club once again fell short of winning promotion back to the Championship, and Wyke is thought to want to challenge himself at a higher level than League One in the coming seasons.

Bolton could well offer that route for the forward, as manager Phil Parkinson seeks to add quality to a squad which struggled last season but managed to maintain their second tier status.
