Leicester City manager Claude Puel has revealed that there is a possibility that Harvey Barnes could be recalled from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion in January, according to reports from Leicestershire Mercury

The 20-year old playmaker has been influential for West Brom this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in the Baggies' opening eight league games, with his best performance for Darren Moore's men coming in midweek against Bristol City in the Baggies' 4-2 victory.

And due to his form in the second tier, Leicester boss Puel has admitted that there is a possibility that the Foxes' academy graduate could be revealed from his loan spell at The Hawthorns in January.

"Harvey had some game-time last season - it was interesting. He came back in January with us, but at the beginning of the season he was not ready to remain with us", Puel said.

"He wanted game-time to play and didn't have the good focus with us - we will see in January and at the end of the season".

"Of course I follow Barnes and everyone else out on loan - we will see what happens in January." the Frenchman added.

Barnes was recalled from a loan spell at Barnsley in January last season, and should the same happen again this season, it could be a massive blow for Albion's promotion hopes this season.

The Verdict

This could be a huge blow for West Brom - but I'm afraid that's the risk of relying on loan players to be the talismanic figure in your team.

The Baggies have Wes Hoolahan as backup should Barnes depart in January, however at the age of 36, could the Irishman really fulfil the void potentially left by Barnes?
