As per Nottingham Forest's official website, David Vaughan is hoping to feature for the club tonight as they take on Norwich City in the Championship.

The experienced midfielder has proven to be quite an important player this season but has been injured in recent weeks.

Indeed, in that time we've seen the likes of Ben Osborn drop deeper to fill in that role alongside Liam Bridcutt with it certainly working out against QPR.

Things at Birmingham did not go as planned, though, and so Forest might be tempted to ease Osborn into this role with him rotating with Vaughan once he is back fit.

Certainly, the veteran has plenty of experience to offer Osborn if he does become a more deep-lying player and we'd expect the two to work closely over the course of this season.

Whether or not Vaughan starts tonight, though, remains to be seen with the game against Norwich coming quickly after the loss at Birmingham.

It's a good time to get back to winning ways, of course, but it remains to be seen if Vaughan plays a part.

The Verdict

Vaughan might be ready but you'd imagine he'll start on the bench. Having him back in and around the first-team is obviously a bonus and you'd expect Forest to benefit.

Certainly, experience is all they really need to truly kick on.
