Sheffield Wednesday boss Jos Luhukay has delivered some positive injury news ahead of his side's clash with Middlesbrough tomorrow evening.

Speaking to press ahead of the game, Luhukay revealed that Steven Fletcher and Barry Bannan have both trained over the international break and have shaken off niggles they had.

Bannan missed the last ten minutes of their excellent 2-1 win at Bristol City on October 7th and he is fit and ready to take his place in the centre of the park this weekend.

The 28-year-old has been influential in their rise this season, scoring twice in 11 matches.

Fletcher was withdrawn after just 18 minutes of the Bristol City match and had to watch on as his replacement, Lucas Joao, bagged a brace to win the game. He too has now recovered from his knock and is fit to take on Tony Pulis' side.

The Owls could move to within a point of Boro with a win, but could finish the weekend no higher than fifth, dependant on Nottingham Forest's result against Norwich 24 hours later.

The Verdict

Having Bannan fit and ready will be a huge boost for Jos Luhukay, he's the key to their midfield and has been the stand out player this season.

As for Fletcher, he may be the unlucky loser. His injury gave Joao a chance and he seized it with both hands. Surely a two-goal salvo is enough to earn him a starting place this weekend.
