It was a frustrating weekend for Leeds United in the Championship last time out as they saw their unbeaten run finally come to an end against Millwall at The Den.

Somewhat of a bogey team for the Whites, the men from south east London were good value for their victory, too, and so now it's back to the drawing board for Thomas Christiansen to try and get a winning run going once more.

For sure, there's no need to panic just yet as the club are still flying high in the Championship standings and have shown they are playing some fine football - plus a loss was going to happen sooner or later in the division.

It remains to be seen, then, how the club bounces back but, according to the manager - as quoted by The Yorkshire Evening Post - both Matthew Pennington and Liam Cooper are close to returns from injury.

He said that Pennington is "very close" to returning to the side whilst "for Saturday (Cooper) will be okay."

For sure, then, this should be welcome news for Leeds fans with Cooper in particular performing brilliantly so far at the heart of the Whites' defence this season.

The Verdict

Naturally, Leeds were going to miss their skipper - particularly in the form he's been in - and so they're going to be pleased that he should be back for a big game against Ipswich.

Having Pennington back is also a bonus, though, with him seeking to get back into the side after an injury early on in this campaign.
