Derby County striker Martyn Waghorn could be back in the squad for Derby's trip to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.

Waghorn, who was the Rams' top scorer last term with 12 goals, hasn't featured since the final day victory at Birmingham back in July.

Pictures of the 31-year-old back in training were released on Twitter last week and Derby boss Philip Cocu revealed in his pre-match press conference that the former Sunderland man is due to return to the squad the John Smith's Stadium.

Waghorn has missed all of Derby's opening five Championship match, but could make a timely return - with tomorrow's trip to West Yorkshire beginning a run of six games in the space of 19 days prior to the next international break in early November.

It's a significant boost for Cocu, whose already lost Jack Marriott's goals after he joined Sheffield Wednesday on Deadline Day, whilst Chris Martin was released - forcing Wayne Rooney to lead the line against Watford on Friday night.

Can you remember the score from each of these 12 Derby County matches from the 2019/20 season?

The Verdict

There's no doubt this is huge boost for Coco's struggling Rams.

Derby have found the net only twice in their opening five match, and are in desperate need of some quality in the attacking areas, not to mention they have a West Midlands derby round the corner and would love to go into a game of that magnitude with another three points under their belt.
