Derby County’s place in next season’s Sky Bet Championship was confirmed earlier in the week, with Gary Rowett’s side losing to Fulham in the play-off semi-finals.

Following Monday’s 2-0 defeat to Fulham, attention at the Pride Park Stadium has swiftly turned to the upcoming summer, with the Rams announcing their retained list.

Darren Bent, Jason Shackell and Chris Baird are all moving on this summer, with Derby not extending the trio’s contracts ahead of next season. In addition to those names, Sam Winnall and Kasey Palmer will return to Sheffield Wednesday and Chelsea respectively.

Joe Bateman, Lewis Walker and Matt Yates – all under-23 players – have agreed new deals with Derby, who have also welcomed back the likes of Nick Blackman, Jacob Butterfield, Chris Martin and Craig Bryson, who have been out on-loan.

It has been announced a number of the club’s other youngsters will also depart this summer, with Derby’s retained list receiving plenty of reaction on social media.
